Wireless sensing with extended radio ranges and more sensor nodes – further development of our nemi Link 2400 wireless technology

There are a wide variety of applications for wireless measurement with different requirements in terms of radio range, battery life and sampling rates. For this reason, we have enhanced our own nemi Link 2400 radio technology so that you can set your radio channel optimally for your requirements.

Even the standard settings of our nemi Link 2400 high-speed radio technology meet the requirements of many applications and enable quick setup and ease of use. This configuration offers you the opportunity to measure extremely energy-efficiently with high sampling rates. Examples include force or acceleration measurements on rotor shafts of wind turbines.

To optimize the measurements of your application, nemi Link 2400 now allows you to set not only the number of sensor nodes per radio channel, but also the radio speed (and thus the radio range) of your radio channel. As this means that significantly greater ranges and more measuring points per radio channel are now possible, applications such as construction monitoring benefit from this.

  • Do you need long radio ranges? Depending on the conditions, nemi Link 2400 can reach up to 140 m in buildings and 350 m in urban environments (ranges of up to 2 km are theoretically possible).
  • Would you like to measure at many measuring points at the same time? With nemi Link 2400 you can use up to 8 sensor nodes per radio channel. That means, by using our nemi DAQ sensor node you can have up to 24 analog channels like strain gages on one radio channel. Of course, you can also operate several radio channels in parallel.
  • Do you want to maximize the battery life of your wireless sensor nodes? Then use the standard mode of our highly efficient radio technology.
  • Your focus is on high data rates? The maximum sum sampling rate of a radio channel with a resolution of 24 bits per sample is 36 kHz.

Determine the perfect balance between radio range, data rate and runtime of your radio channel yourself.

Lois Jacobs explains these setting options in the video. He also introduces our nemi Link 2400 Configuration Tool, which is available on our homepage.

The new, flexible setting options for the radio channel are implemented on all nemione products with nemi Link 2400 radio technology. A firmware update is required for older products.
