Very small installation space, long battery life, wireless data transmission and direct connection of the 3D printed strain gauges to our electronics board: a prime example of Integrated Sensing.
Together with our colleagues from Fraunhofer ILT, Christian Vedder and Matthias Rehberger, we have developed a demonstrator for a smart component that can be used in a variety of ways, even in the smallest applications. Thanks to our highly efficient telemetry and a direct connection to a 3D printed strain gauge (DMS), component condition data such as mechanical and thermal loads can be collected completely wirelessly. With data pre-evaluation through edge computing, battery life can be increased even further.
